  • Your body gets through about 2 litres of water per day! We normally get 40% of that from our food so drink plenty of water, especially when it’s hot.
  • Have 5 portions of fruit or vegetables. Every day!

I think globally, and wherever I can, act locally. Obviously that’s tough when you are fighting the forces of The Carbon Cowboy and Maximatosis but my love for nature and the natural world means I’m completely dedicated to looking after our planet. I’m not perfect, but I do try to recycle, keep myself in good shape and generally do my best. I’ve recently realised something…my best is going to have to get a whole lot better and that includes what I eat! Ever heard the saying an army marches on its stomach? Well it’s true and in order to stay in tip top eco fighting shape I’ve got a few simple “COOL FUEL” suggestions for you to think about the next time you’re making your very own eco hero packed lunch.

I’ve taken it for granted that you’ve all eaten breakfast right? Always eat breakfast! Research has shown that kids who skip breakfast perform less well at school, socially and emotionally. So next time you open your eco packed lunch box, take a closer look at what’s inside? Have you ever wondered where all that yummy food came from? At a time when there is genuine concern about the future of children in our society, we should be demonstrating the positive role that media can play: the impact it can have on culture, social values and learning as well as providing relaxation and entertainment…and so the idea behind The Green Marine was born a new adventure animation series following The Green Marine and the team as they act locally and battle globally to protect Planet Earth not only from its inhabitants but also from a succession of evil alien eco–villains.

Advocacy and application of none lethal weapons or violence runs through every strand in the development of The Green Marine animation series. Moreover, Bio Mimickry and the natural world provides a wonderful education platform that can be used to engage children in science – clear links with wider curriculum based activities, not to forget encouraging creativity and children’s own imagination.

The key ingredients for the series involve a great cast, relevance, science fiction, comedy, jeopardy, adventure, imagination, friendship, aspirations, challenges and team work, but above all fun!!! Whether our kids have read a comic book, seen a Hero character in a TV show, or a movie, played an older siblings video game or maybe they own a few toys, heroes have a way of becoming a big part of a child’s imagination and life. So let’s nurture that imagination and cultivate creativity accessing their own HERO within.

We’re committed to making your visits and your children’s visits to this site the safest, best and most fun experience possible. It’s early days for us here and we’ve still some way to go but we believe new technologies and new patterns of use provide us with opportunities to re–invent our relationship and connections with our kids. Using a clearly defined set of environmental, health and social values the objective is to entertain, empower and help keep children on track. As The Green Marine says “The time is always right to do what is right.”
