Calling all fans, calling all fans, it’s time to start your week off with a little bit of TGM fun…it’s ‘caption time’. Can you think of a funny, silly or serious caption for our super pic??? Why not ask your friends or family and see who can think of the best caption. Good luck and remember to have fun whoohaaaa.
I’m sure you’ll agree that the vast majority of complaints at home usually boil down to household chores or a lack of them. It’s only fair that here at TGMHQ we do ‘our bit’ to help keep the peace – time for team work people! We’ve designed this handy weekly rota to help you manage those chores more fairly and let’s not forget put a smile on mum or dad’s face. Write your name in the relevant space and sign and date below. Remember to post it up where it can be seen, we all need to get a little praise from time to time.
Forever believing in the 3R’s (reduce, reuse, and recycle) here’s a little drum set up we wanted to share with you from today. It’s been a fun and noisy day here at TGM HQ.
A dusting of snow? The one good thing about severe weather is that we can all return to our childhoods and get creative with snow, twigs, carrots and oranges. We should point out that you could also make a snow woman, snow kids or snow animals. Or why not put them together to make your own snow family. There are no rules – the more weird and wonderful your creation is, the better. You could go for the traditional rolling technique, or try to sculpt arms and legs if you’re feeling particularly clever. In recent years, snowmen have started wearing wigs, unusual hats and even bikinis. Rivalries have been sparked and whatever you choose, it’s time to have fun and …
Curtis says “Can’t think what to buy the relative or friend who has everything, wants nothing, or is just difficult to buy for? For a completely unique, eco-friendly and free gift, make your own personalised voucher with a gift of your time. You could offer to baby-sit, do some gardening or DIY, undertake a big de-clutter project, make breakfast in bed, or teach them something fun or useful”
This week fancy stepping up to the plate (get it) and taking our LUNCH BOX CHALLENGE…it’s really simple and doesn’t cost a penny/cent/euro. All you need to do is to decide which day of the week you’re going to try and have a plastic or paper free lunch??? That means no wrappers, cling film, plastic or paper bags, just as nature planned it! You can do it solo, as a family, with friends or even get your class involved? Remember to tell us all about it. For more info check out our Lunch Box Charter http://thegreenmarine.com/fun-stuff
Hoohaa this weekend why not have a bit of free family fun and give urban foraging a try, pears, apples and blackberries are still abundant in SE London. Remember to tell us about your foraging and cooking adventures…enjoy!

Here’s another wonderful photo sent into TGM HQ. The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is one of America’s leading historic, cultural and educational institutions. Opened in 1982, the Museum has welcomed more than 10 million visitors – WOW!!! Thanks for the photo Phil we luv ya work…
Saying “I LOVE YOU” (it’s not just for ice cream you know). Your mum and dad are the most important people in your life right now, they’ve given up everything to bring you into this world. It’s so easy to say yet we often forget to do it! So why not adopt best practice early on and tell them both that you LOVE them every day and there’s a good chance it will last forever. To help the creative lot at TGM HQ have come up with a handy reminder chart, colour in each square every morning as you say it but more importantly really mean it, feels good doesn’t it!
OK here we go again, we’ve got another special ‘The Green Marine’ mission that we’d like you to think about and even better take part in…it’s called ‘Operation Standy’. You know that little red light on the front of the telly, the one that means you don’t have to get up and turn it off? Well, lazy bones – get up and turn it off. Leaving things like TV’s, computers and hi fi equipment on standby takes up around 1% of all electricity used in the home. Leaving your mobile phone charger on at the wall, when you’re not charging your phone uses up energy too. As does leaving lights on when no-one is in the room. Make sure you …
