WOW!!! How cute is this pic??? When you curl up to go to sleep, you’re just getting comfy. When a hedgehog curls up to go to sleep, it’s for protection. Hedgehogs have prickly spines everywhere except on their face, legs, and bellies http://kids.nationalgeographic.com/kids/animals/creaturefeature/hedgehog/

Fastest mammal on land, the cheetah can reach speeds of 60 or perhaps even 70 miles (97 or 113 kilometers) an hour over short distances. It usually chases its prey at only about half that speed, however. The cheetah’s excellent eyesight helps it find prey during the day. Sometimes it perches on high places and watches for prey. http://kids.nationalgeographic.com/kids/animals/creaturefeature/cheetah/

Did you know? Polar bears are the world’s largest land predators. Polar bears live along shores and on sea ice in the icy cold Arctic. When sea ice forms over the ocean in cold weather, many polar bears, except pregnant females, head out onto the ice to hunt seals. Polar bears have been spotted on sea ice hundreds of miles from shore. When the warm weather causes the sea ice to melt, polar bears move back toward shore. A little something very very cute for the weekend – a Lioness with cub! For all of their roaring, growling, and ferociousness, lions are family animals and truly social in their own communities. They usually live in groups of 15 or more animals called prides. Prides can be as small as 3 or as big as 40 animals. In a pride, lions hunt prey, raise cubs, and defend their territory together. Squeezed into a submersible as futuristic as anything in his movies, James Cameron intends to descend solo to the ocean‘s deepest point within weeks, we think he might spot the Carbon Cowboy down there… As with spaceships, deep-sea submersibles must be engineered to accommodate innumerable challenges, including dramatic changes in pressure and temperature and a total absence of sunlight. In the process of meeting these challenges, the DEEPSEA CHALLENGER submersible engineering team has made historic breakthroughs in materials science, incorporated unique approaches to structural engineering, and innovated new ways of imaging through an ultra small stereoscopic camera capable of withstanding the pressure at full ocean depth. The DEEPSEA CHALLENGER will stay on the sea floor for an estimated six hours—dramatically longer than the 20 minutes …
