Our very own super ‘ECO’ villain Maximatosis is on a mission to find out what the number one superpower of choice really is down here on mother earth? If you had to decide what would it be?

The magic number is 10,000, huh? Maybe you have heard the recent guidelines about walking 10,000 steps per day and the importance of being active. How far is 10,000 steps anyway? The average person’s stride length is approximately 2.5 feet long. That means it takes just over 2,000 steps to walk one mile, and 10,000 steps is close to 5 miles. Walking can be done almost anywhere, at any time, and in any weather (especially now summer’s on the way). Just like it was in the old days a pole is a symbol of unity, tradition and pride. It represents a family’s histories, relationships, stories, beliefs and experiences. A traditional totem pole shows animals and mythical figures associated with a family or friends. The word totem is derived from the Ojibwe word odoodem, “his kinship group”. We came across this modern day totem in Geralton, Western Australia. We love the messages,must be time for a group hug x

On a recent adventure across the other side of the world in Fremantle, Western Australia, a member of the team came across these amazing recycled horses at Bathers Beach. Wonderful examples of creativity AND application of the 5R’s reduce, reuse, recycle (oh and repair, and REFUSE). We hope you get all inspired, have fun x

Hey guys we’ve got another TOP ‘ECO’ TIP for you today. Check out this really useful re-use for an old loo roll. Go and impress mum or dad, now there’s no excuse not to have all those cables and leads at the back of the TV neatly stowed away and all ship shape ha. x

How about this little top tip as a great way to resuse egg shells, involve the kids in both eating and planting. Remember if you have any of your own top ECO tips that you’d like to share we’d love to hear from you whoohaaa x

Gardening’s gone all guerilla. Those forgotten areas of the estate, left to fall apart and fall into disrepair. The municipal scrub land where nothing can grow…Or can it? We’re about to find out. Buttercups and Poppies will take at least 3 weeks to start growing, Ryegrass should be the first thing to grow after about one week. Keep watching this space folks…
