The magic number is 10,000, huh? Maybe you have heard the recent guidelines about walking 10,000 steps per day and the importance of being active. How far is 10,000 steps anyway? The average person’s stride length is approximately 2.5 feet long. That means it takes just over 2,000 steps to walk one mile, and 10,000 steps is close to 5 miles. Walking can be done almost anywhere, at any time, and in any weather (especially now summer’s on the way). It’s also a great way to get from A to B, which means you can fit walking into your daily routine http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/loseweight/Pages/10000stepschallenge.aspx

The term “bicycle” was not introduced until the 1860s, when it was coined in France to describe a new kind of two-wheeler with a mechanical drive. 3. Orville and Wilbur Wright, the brothers who built the first flying airplane, operated a …

Did you know? The Conservation Volunteers help hundreds of thousands of people each year to reclaim local green places http://www.tcv.org.uk/ Looking after green places isn’t just about caring for nature. It’s about caring for people as well. A well-used green place is a classroom, a gym, a playground and a sanctuary. It is a place that is good for people as well as for wildlife. Team TGM joined volunteers and Friends of Westow Park  http://friendsofwestowpark.ning.com/ for a spot of tree planting (Lagerstroemia Indica Rosea) and outdoor recreation.

Kids just LOVE getting involved in the kitchen, especially juicing. The preparation and cutting of the veggies, the whizzing and clunking of the juicer and of course the tasty treat. This little TGM trooper likes to help daddy make carrot and ginger juice!!! We use 5 organic carrots and a chunk of ginger, nothing more, nothing less. What’s your fave???

Curtis is an Afro Caribbean judo master. He has studied “the gentle way” since he was bullied at school as a young boy and spent several years in Japan studying with one of the grand masters. Despite his slight frame, he is surprisingly strong and is very agile. Curtis sees an incredible ability in Clay, but wishes he would focus it more.
