A BROTHER AND SISTER, 1 AFRO CARIBBEAN JUDO MASTER, A FROG FROM OUTER SPACE AND A HANDFUL OF ECO VILLAINS…
When the planet calls there’s a new kid on the block. Remember the name people Clay Swift! The Green Marine (TGM) is a new science fiction action adventure animation series set in the present day. It follows Clay Swift and the team as they act locally and battle globally to protect Planet Earth not only from its inhabitants but also from a succession of evil alien eco-villains, and they still get home in time for tea!
Clay Swift aka The Green Marine is a regular 14 year old boy, well almost, apart from the fact he’s got a splash of alien plant RNA (due to a freak accident in his late father’s science lab when he was a little baby) which has given him some incredible physical and mental abilities. He thinks he can understand birds and animals talking to one another, huh… What Clay doesn’t really know is the true extent of his alien plant RNA/DNA mix and his very real planet saving capabilities. Having special abilities sounds good you might think, but it has also given him something he can’t control, a love of nature and feeling for the natural world, which he often regrets. Sometimes, this is so strong that it over rides his ability to deal with people which leads to trouble.
Clay is a practical joker and loves nothing more than a good laugh usually at the expense of someone else, he rides his bike to school, enjoys a spot of Judo, and is always getting told off for turning his music up too loud and like most of us tucks into the odd bit of junk food. Clay’s stuck with his special abilities and whether he likes it or not he is on a mission to protect the planet from the likes of the Carbon Cowboy and Maximatosis – evil alien eco-villains – who are single handedly stealing, customising and destroying our planet’s dwindling energy resources as well as our plant and animal species! Is anything safe???
Luckily, he won’t be fighting Earth’s top enemies alone. At his side is his super smart hyper intelligent hi-tech whiz kid sister Chloe (age 12, who likes to go by the name Pixel Queen). She will recycle and ride her bike to school, but she’s not going to cut down on her internet time. And it’s more likely to be the incessant beeping rather than the threat of her widening carbon footprint that will make her close the fridge door. There’s his wise and cunning martial arts instructor Curtis (age 30) who has studied “the gentle way” since he was bullied at school as a young boy and spent years in Japan studying with one of the grand masters. Despite his slight frame, he is surprisingly strong and is very agile. Curtis sees an incredible ability in Clay, but wishes he would focus it more.
Then there’s Zzzpphb-wwwebozwephband a talking frog from the ‘Hibian’ galaxy (several thousand years old we believe) who’s actually one of the best interstellar ‘ECO’ cops…But there’s a problem most of the threats are unseen by us – so going to the authorities won’t do any good and even their mum ‘Jessie’ doesn’t take any notice!
Well… he doesn’t really like to be called a frog, but yes, that does seem to be the closest Earth species he resembles. Frog crash landed on Earth a while back and has been stuck here ever since. From his disabled and partially buried spacecraft he has been monitoring Earth and knows how vulnerable the planet has become to some pretty dangerous eco-unfriendlies. When Clay and his team show up, Frog is one happy alien amphibian and vows to help them – which considering his spaceship is a treasure trove of alien technology and intergalactic monitoring equipment – constitutes one big heap of a leap forward!!!
Clay’s number one eco adversary is The Carbon Cowboy… a scary Kevlar coated toxic sharp shooter intent on claiming the earth for himself. Inside the robust metallic exterior, is a fragile alien plant-based life-form. Because the Earth’s current atmosphere is toxic to him, he is dependent on his suit to sustain him. Nobody knows the origin of this alien parasite, but it was Chloe Swift that dubbed him the Carbon Cowboy. His secret lair is believed to be a disused oil platform far out at sea, useful for staying off the radar…
Also in the spot light is Maximatosis a bitter, twisted, megalomaniacal mutant half man half rabbit creature from a far off planet called ‘Lagomorph’. It was an alien strain of the Myxomatosis virus that wiped out most of the population of his world and Max with the help of no:2 (his trusty Penguin sidekick) is on a mission to replenish it using animals from ours, adding to his collection of endangered plant and animal species…he is intent on building his own army of animal misfits!
And if that doesn’t sound cool enough there’s Clay and the gang’s constant battles with the ecologically unsound inhabitants of his own planet. So pull on your Destructive Pattern Material (that’s camouflage to you and me) and lace up your combat boots for a foot to the floor ride. It’s time to work up a sweat as we join The Green Marine and his team of unlikely heroes in a true adventure of a lifetime! “It’s your world…are you strong enough?”
